Don’t JUST create lists.
Create intentional lists. Make sure to always keep it simple and relevant to the bigger picture project, Keeping it doable then schedule a deadline. Start with the hardest task first. I like to use reminders on the iPhone. I am also trying out ASANA which is going well so far! (More updates soon)

Time Blocking To Relieve Anxiety
Identify your top priority.”My motto is: Until my number one priority is done each day, all else is a distraction,” The best way to do this is Instead of looking at the clock to plan out your day, go by the events and projects you must work on. Another thing I suggest to keep momentum is to block off planning and personal development time to review progress and do some future planning. If we know where we’re going and what we want to accomplish, this gives us amazing clarity on our priority.

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily” Zig Ziglar.

Stick ONLY To Your Top 5 Goals All Else Is A Distraction.
Here is Warren Buffett’s 5-Step Process for Prioritising True Success!

  1. Know what you want.
  2. List your top 25.
  3. Pick your Top 5. …
  4. Make your Top 5 Plan. …
  5. Marry your priorities. …
  6. Know your ‘Avoid at all Cost List’ and stick to it.

Stop Multitasking NOW
Many people find it hard to focus, but it is a skill you can develop. To improve your focus. Train your brain. Any skill worth having requires practice. Learning to focus is no different. Invest time in mastering attention training or meditation. Both are great ways to practice taming distractions and improving focus.By sharpening your focus, you’ll not only get more done but also enjoy more flow” when you’re so absorbed in an activity that nothing else seems to matter. Flow can create a sense of fulfilment, engagement and even contentment.

Put similar tasks and project outcomes together and do them in sections, rather than jumping from one thing to the next. You’ll get in a rhythm and save SO MUCH TIME One example of this is to have 1 financial goal / outcome and schedule and create your tasks around that. This will make you feel like you don’t have a million little things to get done – instead you have small paths to success together you to you bigger picture dream. In fact you can apply this to everything! For example is batch your errands. If you need to go to the post office, the bank, do the groceries then batch your errands in one outing! Batching changed my life. The best thing is that you can batch EVERYTHING. (Watch More Here)

Sometimes Feel As If You Are Dreaming Too Big?

Does the Overwhelm sometimes make you feel like giving up?

How do you know when you are thinking too big? Sometimes I feel like I want to change the world but find it difficult to sometimes change my own world! I get so overwhelmed about what I must achieve that I forget to just CHILL OUT or alternatively give up completely! so I go through periods of huge overwhelm! Can anyone relate?

I must say I have got a HELL of a lot better this year and just wanted to share what I found helped. So here goes…

Plan Big.

The problem isn’t that people think too big; it’s that they fail to plan big. Dream as big as you want but don’t fail to create a plan to get there. If you don’t have action steps and deadlines in your calendar, you’re just wishing and dreaming and not doing. Strategize, structure, work, plan your goals and dreams. No goals, no growth.

Know the Worst Case Scenario isn’t Likely.

No great plan ever gets accomplished without a good amount of struggle. But people often think the struggle will be worse than it will be. So, if you fail, what’s the worst that can happen? You will be judged? They already do that. You’ll be broke? You’ve been there before. You’ll be sad? You’ve felt that before and moved through, too. Get over your fears and continue moving forward because life is also full of second chances. If obstacles come along, you will figure out a way to overcome them – you always have. You’re always stronger than you think when you’re fighting for a purpose.

Think team.

Don’t let your current circumstances or competencies limit your vision for the future. Other people can help you grow and progress. They can strengthen your weaknesses. Always think TEAM! You need support to achieve anything significant in life. Your dream is only too big if you haven’t enrolled anyone else in achieving it.

Develop your skill set.

If you want to move forward with your dream, you must schedule your learning and growth. What is required to succeed at the next level? What do you need to know? Start learning. What do you need to be able to do? Start training. Create your own curriculum for learning and get it on the calendar.

It seriously takes constant self-development  to achieve dreams If you’re not developing yourself to achieve your dream, then I guess you are… just a dreamer.

OH and watch this too!

Why Your Workspace Matters? Giveaway!

I am totally speaking from experience with this one! I was one of those people that no matter how many times I cleaned up after myself it would just pile up again before I knew it with all important information on a collection of used coffee cups. It was until I read the Kon Mari book “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing” when I truly understood the art of minimal living.

The average person spends eight hours a day for at least five days a week sometimes even more!

Did you know that your desk space can have a psychological impact on you? According to a recent PsyBlog post, you can actually use the things around you to help get you through the day–however long you work.

Here are 5 quick hacks to improve your productivity in your workspace!

Decorated workspaces improve workers’ well being and boost productivity. A group of researchers found that when employees were allowed to decorate their offices–with personal pictures and kinckknacks–their work performance was positively affected. So go ahead with those creative Tumblr style DIY’s and make it pretty.

Bring in some nature

A recent study found that looking at pictures of nature has a positive effect on cognitive function. When participants in the study looked at images of nature, they were able to recover more effectively from mental fatigue and restore their attention more easily. So hang scenes of nature in the office or at a desk to help you get through the workday.  Also plants have a similar effect helping restore your attention.

Shapes matter

Surprisingly, curved lines versus angular objects and straight lines in your work area help you stay relaxed. Research supports that interiors with more curves than straight lines elicit more pleasant emotions–such as peacefulness and relaxation.

Position the equipment and supplies that you use most within reach. Things that you rarely use can be stored or put away also use inexpensive storage boxes to keep archived files and get them out of your current file space and hopefully with your new organized office, you won’t create piles of paper anymore, but you still have to sort through the old ones. Go through the pile (a little at a time if necessary) and put it in the appropriate place or dump it.

De-clutter, empty, shred, get rid of everything that you don’t need or want. Look around. What haven’t you used in a while? Take one area at a time. If it doesn’t work, send it out for repair or toss it. If you haven’t used it in months and can’t think of when you’ll actually need it, out it goes. This goes for furniture, equipment, supplies, etc. Don’t forget about knick-knacks, plants (real or artificial), and decorations – if they’re covered with dust and make your office look shabby, they’re fair game.

Set your schedule

Prioritize which tasks need to be completed. Even if you are interrupted by unexpected assignments or emergencies, you’ll know exactly what needs to be done when you return to your desk. Not only will a schedule help keep you organized and focused, you’ll get the satisfaction of crossing items off your “to do” list once you complete them.

This Amazing Thing Happened When I Raised My Standards

Raised My Standards

I sometimes think that we underestimate how much power we really hold. We have the capacity to move mountains but it all begins and ends with our standards. I knew that I wanted to make some sort of difference in the world but didn’t really know how to go about that, to me it was a dream. After finally having had enough of living in such a boxed environment and the world telling me who i should be I began to educate myself  and intensely studied successful people – understanding what it was that made them ‘tick’

This post is a little heavy…Granted. But as much as we are all crazy over pretty things (GUILTY!) I feel to carry off what we wear on our bodies or slap on our faces we must shine from within and really have that inner confidence to stand out from a crowd. We all need to feed ourselves with new information & take appropriate action to achieve what  we really want.

‘We can each define ambition and progress for ourselves. The goal is to work toward a world where expectations are not set by the stereotypes that hold us back, but by our personal passion, talents and interests’

– Sheryl Sandburg

Change YOUR game!!

I strongly think that if you believe it to be a MUST for you –  you certainly without FAIL find a way! All you have to incorporate into your beliefs and standards are RITUALS (Rituals makes your standards real – in other words not just talking the talk but also walking the walk)

Rituals define who we are! What time do you begin your day?  What do you fill your mind and body with? Whose opinions and feedback you choose to take on board?

What standards you hold yourself to and what are all the little rituals you practice to make them real?

For example, a standard for myself I hold very strongly is to ALWAYS BE LEARNING. My ritual for this is learn 2 new things per day WITHOUT FAIL. Whether it’s an article I pick up or watch a documentary learning about something I want to achieve on my goals list.

People are rewarded in public for the things they practice in private every day. I make it a vow to demand more from myself than anyone could humanly expect I’m competing with what I am capable of  – this minimises the back chatter of the outside world and allows me to be at peace with myself.

Standards are just illusions without rituals!!

It’s not what we get or have materialistically that makes us happy and it is not until we BECOME & what we are able to GIVE because of what and who we have become that gives our life meaning And us a true purpose.

I started with a few questions in mind these might help you too…

  1. What is an area that you really want to improve ?

  2. Describe what that area is specifically like for you now.

3. Write down the rituals that have shaped your current conditions in this area (honestly)

4. Write down what you want ?what is your specific and compelling vision?

5. What are the rituals that will get you there ? What you need to do differently daily to get you there?(consistent willpower doesn’t last rituals do)

Hope this resonated with you in some way guys!!

REMEMBER: There’s always two pains in life – the pain of discipline or the pain of regret & regret weighs a tonne.
